I’ve changed my air conditioning filter but it’s not getting dirty. Is it not filtering?
Air is being sucked back by gaps in your ductwork. Your ductwork is either in your attic or under your house if you have a raised foundation. Look for tears in your flex duct and gaps in the sheet metal duct back to your furnace or air handler. You can use aluminum tape or duct sealer to fix the problems; however, you should have a licensed HVAC technician come look at your ducts to make sure they are working properly. If your ducts are not filtering your system it can cause an increase in your energy bills and can lead to an early replacement of you’re a/c or heating unit.
