How a SMUD Home Performance Energy Audit Works

SMUD home performance energy audits may be conducted by either a Home Energy Contractor, who assesses the energy performance of your home and may implement recommended upgrades such as insulation or water heater repairs, or an Independent Energy Rater, who conducts the energy audit and makes recommendations but does not do upgrade work. Upgrades must be done by a qualified SMUD-approved contractor to qualify for financial incentives.
